Although the weather in May was pretty awful,
everything else has gone well.
|

Shows
We attended our first Holker Hall
festival in the South of Cumbria. This was a great success,
introducing us to a new group of customers. Thank you to those
of you who attended. The weather was fantastic, albeit a bit
hot in the marquee!
We also attended the Royal Highland Show
with a couple of yearling heifers. We didn’t follow last
year’s success unfortunately, but learnt a lot in the process.
We will be back next year with a bigger and better team. One,
Hallsford Butterwort, can been seen on the left.
Events in the near future:
- Lowther Horse Driving Trials. 8th, 9th, 10th August.
- Carlisle Great Food Fair. 22nd, 23rd August in the City
Centre.

The Farms Our beef
is top quality Shorthorn or Shorthorn sired. All our animals are
raised on either Hallsford or Dorreyfield farms. These small
family run farms are in a beautiful part of Cumbria that not
many people see, north of Hadrian’s wall, south of the border.
Our production is non-intensive,
largely grass based, although the cattle are finished on barley.
Both farms have been getting in
silage this month. We will also we taking a cut of hay in July
which feeds our sheep over the winter. |
